"Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her." Proverbs 31:25-27

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Benson Roney; parents, Henry Oscar Cooksey and Lucy Walley Cooksey; brother, J.V. Cooksey; sister, Lasi Sinn.

Survivors include her son, Glen "Sonny" Roney (Diane), Ellisville, MS; grandchildren, Laura Lynn Thomas (John), McHenry, MS, Regina Adams, Shreveport, LA, Joseph Roney (Nikki), Shreveport, LA, Callissa Eager, Ellisville, MS; great grandchildren, Tyler Clements, Baylee-Marie Clements, Aaron Thomas, Madison Roney, Dylan Walden, Noah and Levi Adams, Chloe and Blair Eager; brother-in-law, Rev. E.C. Roney (Merle), Ellisville, MS; sister-in-law, Gladys Hutchinson, Ellisville, MS and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Hutchinson, Zach Hutchinson, Nick Hutchinson, Scotty Morris, Timothy Morris and Jason Morris.

Sister Dessra Ree took great comfort in her faith and the promise of Jesus soon return found in I Thessalonians 4:13-18:
"But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words."
