William Randall Purvis, 83, of Ellisville, MS, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at St. Dominics in Jackson, MS. He was born on February 8, 1943, in Laurel, MS.

William loved the outdoors and living life, especially fond of his Chihuahua’s. He enjoyed fabricating, flying planes, wood carving and being in Bogue Homa swamp.

He was preceded in death by his father, Von Ray Purvis; mother, Esther Ree Purvis; daughter, Sharon Denise McDonald; sister, Janice Johnson; sister-in-law, Gaye Purvis.

He is survived by his loving family, including his wife of 13 years, Tina Purvis; daughter, Tracy Purvis; grandsons, Clayton Purvis (Brittany), Cody McDonald (LeeAnne), Randy McDonald (Kayla), granddaughter, Daylee Stanley; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Gene Purvis, Ray Purvis (Madie), Phillip Purvis Sr. (Brenda), Dene Purvis (Barbara), Tim Purvis (Karen) and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Ellisville Funeral Home from 12:30PM to 2:00PM with funeral services to follow. Burial will be at Purvis Family Cemetery in Ellisville, MS. Arrangements are under the care of Ellisville Funeral Home in Ellisville, MS.

Pallbearers will be Gene Purvis, Ray Purvis, Phillip Purvis Sr., Dene Purvis, Tim Purvis and Allen Purvis Jr.

Honorary pallbearer will be Clayton Purvis.
