Vermell Sims Tew, of Ellisville/ Laurel, MS passed away Friday, June 3, 2022 at the South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, MS.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 2:00PM until 3:30 PM at Antioch United Pentecostal Church in Laurel, MS. Funeral services will follow at 3:30 PM. Burial will follow in Jordan Cemetery in Ellisville. Bro. Joshue Pierce, Bro. Donald Moore and Bro. Mike Dutton will officiate.

She was a sweet, loving mother a wife, who loved everyone she met. She especially loved her family and her church family.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Sims, her parents, Horace and Iva Boleware, her sisters, Brenda Boleware and Barbara Boleware, one grandson, Josh Sims.

Survivors include her husband, Frankie Tew; son, Craig Sims (Faye); daughters, Pam Sumrall (Don) and Donna Parker (Otis); grandchildren, Kim Whiddon (Jason), Jessica Parker, Kaylee Parker; great grandson Layne Whiddon (Ashlynn); sisters Merle McDonald, Pat Lowery (Shirley); brother Oscar Boleware (Carmen) and stepchildren Mike Tew, Jacquie Neff and Kim Blackburn. A special friend Sister Ashley Pierce.

Pallbearers will be Layne Whiddon, Jason Whiddon, Ted Oggs, Brent Sawyer, Stanley Wilson and Ben Wilson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mike McDonald.

Also, she would like for us to thank the nurses and staff on the 2nd floor West at South Central for the special care and love they gave her.
