Obituary

Teresa Robertson, 71, of Ellisville, MS—went home to be with Jesus on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, MS, with her family holding her hand. Born on September 9, 1954, in Foley, Alabama, Teresa lived all of her days full of love, laughter, and that southern belle grace that made folks feel like family. Teresa was the glue that held her family together, a faithful wife to her devoted husband of 52 years, 'Skeeter' Robertson, and a world class mama to her boys: Joe Michael Robertson and his wife Jennifer, Chuck Robertson, and Jonathan Robertson and his wife Holly. She was "Granna" to her eight grandbabies—Josie Norris and her husband Fisher, Neeley Robertson, Tristyn Robertson, Tate Robertson, Kaylee Robertson, Cara Robertson, Addi Robertson, and Cooper Robertson—always ready with a story, a laugh, and one of those big ol' hugs that fixed whatever was wrong. She was a cherished sister to Lisa Cocker and her husband Bo, Donna Williams and her husband Phil, and Debbie Flynt and her husband Phil, and her legacy continues on through a whole host of nieces and nephews. Gone before her were her mama and daddy, Joe C. Stringer and Shirley Holifield Stringer, and her sisters Brenda Hagen and Joanna Welborn. Her house was the spot for family suppers, where the table was covered with good country food, and everyone felt at home. Folks 'round Ellisville knew Teresa for how she made everybody feel special, no matter who you were. Her hugs were the real deal, the kind that wrapped you up tight and made you forget about your troubles. Whether she was at a ballgame, dance recital, or at a play, she always had an encouraging word and a push to keep going, "You got this!" as she was known for saying. Talking to Teresa was like sunshine on a rainy day; you always walked away feeling better, loved up, and ready to face the world. She was our light, plain and simple, shining bright with her love for the Lord and her way of seeking out the overlooked to make 'em feel welcomed and wanted. Teresa's mark on this world shows up in all the smiles she put on faces—from her church family to tending her flower garden, or whipping up her famous waffles, chicken casserole, tomato gravy and cathead biscuits, mostly, Teresa just loved people…..
