Steven L. Kitchens, 68, of Ellisville, MS passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at his residence in Ellisville, MS. He was born Monday, January 17, 1955 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Ellisville Funeral Home on 1204 Ave. B, Ellisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Ellisville Funeral Home with the burial to follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Paul Hand will officiate. Steven was a cowboy at heart and was a champion team roper.  When he wasn't traveling with the rodeo circuit, he enjoyed being a lineman for MS power and Pike Electric for over 40 years. He loved his family greatly and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Joshua D. Kitchens; father, Donald L. Kitchens.

Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Kay Butler Kitchens;  son, Donald DeVun;  daughters, Carla L. Kitchens (Thomas Kittrell), Teneil Beech (Stanley) and Beth Conerly (Dylan);  mother, Eva Loise Dobson Kitchens;  brothers, Gary Kitchens (Regina) and Kenny Kitchens (Betty);  grandsons, Chandler Kitchens, Brayden Conerly and Brody Beech;  granddaughters, Camile Kitchens, Lindsey Beech, Sophie Beech and Brittani Beech; 2 great grandchildren; nephew, Chad Kitchens (Lynn) whom he loved as a son, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Easterling, Chandler Kitchens, Kenny Kitchens, Jacob Kitchens, Brody Beech, Peyton Winfield, and Dylan Conerly.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Kittrell, Stanley Beech, Brayden Conerly, and Gary Kitchens.
