Shirley Dykes, 87, of Soso, MS, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, March 27, 2025. Born on February 11, 1938, in Ellisville, Mississippi, Shirley lived a life full of love and laughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell Dykes, her son Clay Dykes, and daughter Joan Dykes. She was also predeceased by her father, Grady Louis Reeves, her mother, Mary Carolyn Sharbrough Reeves, her brothers, Loyd Reeves and Robert Reeves, and her best friend and protector, Sheba.

Shirley is survived by her niece, Sandra Goodman, who cherished her dearly. Her nephew, James Dykes, was always ready to lend a helping hand and brought joy with his humor. Long-time friend Buddy Reynolds was a constant source of advice, and childhood friend Marita Robertson was like a sister to her, nieces, Pat Hall (John) and Ann Walker.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Ellisville Funeral Home, located at 1204 B Ave, Ellisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 PM at the same location, with Bro. Adam Sloan officiating. Shirley will be laid to rest in Jordan Cemetery in Ellisville, MS.

Pallbearers will include Jonathan Hilbun, Wayne Sharp, Patricia Ramagos, Kenny Clark, Adam Holifield, and Todd Jordan. Honorary pallbearers are James Dykes, Buddy Reynolds, and Merita Robertson.
