Obituary

Laurel, Mississippi. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon Lee Williams, age 78, on October 23, 2025.

Sharon was dearly loved by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Stella Jean Lane, and brother Larry Lane. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jim Williams; her four children, Jim (Delena), C. Scott (Stephenie), Eric (Sharon), and Caitlin Miller (Adam); thirteen beloved grandchildren, Jennifer, Maddison, Jim Thomas, Kimberlee, Christopher, Aimee Fox (Matt), Emilie, Aaron (Leah), Levi, Caleb, Taylor, Xylain, and Braxton; and one cherished great-grandson, Lance. She is also survived by two siblings, Pamela Bolyanatz (Alex) and Debra Martin (Bob), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Born in Long Beach, California, Sharon was the eldest of three children. She graduated from Brethren High School, and married Jim in 1967 in Long Beach. Together, they shared a lifetime of love and adventure—living in California, Alaska, and eventually settling in Mississippi, where Sharon earned her Bachelors from the University of Southern Mississippi and her Master in Education from William Carey University.

Sharon embodied compassion, strength, and loyalty. Her caring spirit and determination touched every part of her life. Over the years, she served with dedication and grace—as a devoted homemaker and mother, a Sunday School teacher, and a beloved educator at East Jones Elementary, from where she retired.

A woman of quiet but steadfast faith, Sharon was a devoted Christian and follower of Jesus Christ. She found joy in singing with the church choir, traveling, and spending time with loved ones—often gathered around a table sharing laughter, games, and good food.

Sharon will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
