Sarah Ann
Hill
June 27, 1931 – January 16, 2023
Sarah Ann Hill passed away on January 19, 2023 at Jones County Rest Home in Ellisville Mississippi. She was born on June 27, 1931 in Mantee, Mississippi and lived most of her adult life in the Mississippi Delta.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 25, 2023 beginning at 10:00 am with a Graveside service to follow at 11:00 am at Ellisville City Cemetery. Rev. David Wilson will officiate the service.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles S. Hill, her parents Sidney and Grace Wilson; sisters Betty Wilson and Kate Worsham.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara Case of Ellisville, granddaughter Sarah Mason of Spanish Fort, Alabama and the loves of her life, her great granddaughters Josie Price and Sadie Price. She is also survived by her brother Steve Wilson (Glenice) of Vicksburg, sisters Rosemary Crawford of Vicksburg and Helen Sweat of Blytheville Arkansas, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was employed by McRae's Department Store as a sales lady and cosmetician for 21 years. She especially enjoyed the many years spent selling Estee Lauder cosmetics and making women beautiful. She excelled at her job and was recognized as a top seller and Salesperson of the Years.
She enjoyed her role as mother, grandmother and great grandmother the most. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her family. Her favorite past time was gardening and everything she planted thrived under her care. She loved creating a pretty yard and spending time on her porch looking at her flowers and watching and feeding the birds. She often said she felt close to God in her garden.
She enjoyed teaching children in Sunday School while living in the Delta. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ellisville after moving to Ellisville in 2010.
We are so very thankful and grateful to all the staff at Jones County Rest Home who provide the absolute best care in her last years and who became her extended family. The comfort, compassion and care they provided will always be remembered.
Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
