Ruthie Janette Hathorn, aged 83, of Ellisville, MS, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Magnolia Gardens in Ellisville, MS. Born on September 8, 1941, in Mississippi, Janette was a beloved member of her community.

Janette was a member of Ellisville First Assembly of God for over 50 years where she served in various roles including Sunday school teacher and Sunday school secretary.  She loved her Lord and her family.  She spent may years selling Home Interiors and enjoyed helping other people decorate their homes.  She enjoyed flower arranging, cooking and fishing.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Charles Bobby Hathorn; daughter, Patricia Hathorn: her father, Fred Walters; her mother, Audie Lee Walters; and her brothers, Garland Walters, Donnie Walters, and Lonnie Walters.

Janette is survived by her sons, Tim Hathorn (Dianne), Bobby Hathorn, and Jeffrey Hathorn (Amy); her brother, Jim Walters (Brenda); her sister, Elaine Crabtree; her grandchildren, Scott Hathorn, Jordan Sheppard (Stacey), Hope Hathorn (Hank), and Jay Hathorn (Karlin); and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Myrtis Hollingsworth (Henry) and Bobbie Walters, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She had special people in her life that helped care for her: Julia Evans, Eva Bowens, Deborah Nicholson and Frances Shelby; all the staff of Deaconess Hospice; all the staff of Magnolia Gardens in Ellisville, MS.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Earl Walters, Tim West, Kevin Hunnell, Jeremy Hunnell, Cody Hunnell, and Joey McRee.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2024, from 1:00PM until 2:30PM at First Assembly of God in Ellisville, MS. Funeral services will follow at 2:30PM at the same location, with burial at Big Creek Cemetery in Soso, Mississippi. Bro. Kenny Morris, Bro. Scott Morris, and Bro. Andy Stringfellow will officiate the services. Arrangements are being handled by Ellisville Funeral Home.
