Russell Leroy Hamilton, 83 of Ovett, MS passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025 at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, MS. He was born Monday January 19th 1942 in Laurel, MS.

A Mass Service will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Laurel MS, Wednesday February 19th at 11:00 am. A small private service will be held at Good Hope Baptist Church Laurel, MS afterwards.

Mr. Hamilton attended Jones Community College and graduated from University of Southern Mississippi in Business and Accounting. He opened American Lantern in Mexico and Cameron Ship Building in Brownsville TX. He returned home in 1991 to work on taxes and building his farm. His biggest passion was helping others and his love of delivering food for Christian Food Mission. He was loved by so many people.

Russell is preceded in death by his wife Laura Rivera Hamilton, daughter Terri Hamilton Umstead, Father R.L. Hamilton and Mother Abbie Stewart Hamilton.

Russell is survived by daughter Tammi Hamilton, Best Friend Shiela Ried, First Wife Russeline Hawkins Blakeney,  Brothers Howard Hamilton and Alvin Hamilton, Sister Arlene Robine (Johnny), two Granddaughters and three great grandchildren.
