Homer Cooley was a devoted loving husband, Father and best known by Papaw. He served honorably in the U.S. Army. He worked for many years at Jitney Jungle as a Butcher. He was one of the longest living members of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, where he served as the Bible Hour Director for many years, he drove the church bus for Sunday School and was a Trustee. He loved his church and his church family.

Papaw enjoyed working in his yard, doing wood work and attending his grandkids sporting events. He was also known for making the best buttermilk pound cake, chili and beef stew this side of Jones County. He never met a stranger and always enjoyed visiting with his family and friends.

He will be greatly missed, but his family rejoices that he is with his Lord and Savior, and they will see him again. Our family would like to extend our gratitude and thankfulness to our dad's caregivers that are now a part of our family, Latoya Breland, Kathy Mozingo, and Nikka Hatten. Also, a special thank you to Carrie and Josh Beech for always being a phone call away when he needed them. We would also like to extend our heartfelt friendship of Papaw's friends Bro. Kevin Rodriguez, wife, Toni, and their children, Luke and Nicholas.
