Mitchell Scruggs, 71 of Ellisville, MS passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, MS. He was born Thursday, September 13, 1951, in Laurel, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023, from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at Ellisville Funeral Home in 1204 Ave. B, Ellisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 11:00AM at Ellisville Funeral Home in Ellisville, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Walters Cemetery in Ellisville, MS.

Mitchell went out with a bang even in death.  He died on July 4th at 4:44 a.m. He was an electrician and owned his own business I.E.S Inc. He was an electrical contractor at the mill in New Augusta.  That is where he became Mitch.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He loved loved loved bass fishing.  He cried when he had to sell his bass boat!

He was preceded in death by his father, Grover Jarvis Scruggs; mother, Mary Josephine Walters Scruggs.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Sandra Williamson Scruggs; sisters, Mary Joann Knight (John) and Debbie Townsend (Gary); niece, Beverly Patterson; nephews, Roger Sanford (Sylvia), Johnny Rowell (Debbie), Ronnie Sanford (Tessa) and Randy Sanford (Lisa).

Pallbearers will be Friends and Family.
