Michael "Mikey" Herod Shows, 77, of Ovett, MS passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023 at the Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, MS. He was born Tuesday, July 23, 1946 in Laurel, Mississippi.

A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Olive Methodist Church Cemetery in Ovett, Mississippi. Bro. Mike West will officiate. Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 601-477-3797

Mikey was well known as a local farmer and co-owner of Shows Brothers Farm Supply in Ellisville. He served as a board member at Farm Bureau and Dixie Electric Power Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleburn and Elma Shows; brother, Bobby Shows; sister, Sue Tisdale (Thomas R.).

Survivors include his sons, Richard Shows (Michelle) and Ryan Shows (Gary); daughter, Jennifer Morris (Jeffrey) and their mother, Judy Lightsey; grandsons, Blake Shows, Channing Shows and Ayden Morris; sister-in-law, Sandra Shows.

Pallbearers will be Friends and Family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Forrest General Healthcare Foundation in support of the Asbury Hospice House.
