Mervis D. Sumrall, 92, of Laurel, MS passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at the Care Center of Laurel. She was born Wednesday, January 21, 1931 in Laurel, Mississippi.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Pine View Baptist Church Cemetery in Laurel, Mississippi. Bro. Eddie Bryant will officiate. Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 601-477-3797
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Judia Adean McNeil; parents, Dewey and Nancy Cooley Guthrie and son-in-laws, Kerry A. Whitmore and Bill Patton.
Survivors include her son, Herman "JR" Hoffman, Jr.; daughters, Sherry Whitmore and Myrtis Dean Patton; Five grandchildren and her boyfriend, Max Boler.
Pallbearers will be Friends and Family.
