Matt Phillips, 59, of Laurel, Mississippi, passed away Monday, November 8, 2021 at his residence in Myrick, Mississippi. He was born Monday, January 22, 1962 in Laurel, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 12:30 PM until 2:30 PM at the Ellisville Funeral Home in Ellisville, Mississippi. Funeral Services will follow at 2:30 PM. The Burial will follow in Myrick Cemetery. Bro. Bill Myers will officiate. Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (601) 477-3797

Matt left a legacy of being an extremely talented carpenter. He was self employed as a carpenter for over thirty years. Matt would have given anyone the shirt off of his back even if it was the last thing he had to give. He was the true definition of a "family man". He always put his family first. He was blessed with many different titles, one of his favorites being Paw-paw.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Tami Phillips, his mother, Carolyn McCrae and his father, Roosevelt Phillips.

Survivors include his daughters, Kayla Boler (Buford), Debe Phillips Lee (Randy), his sons, Justin Phillips (Addison), Greg Little (Cassie), his brother, Mark Phillips, his sisters, Brenda Phillips (Steve) and Joy Andrews (Wayne) as well as ten grandkids and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Justin Phillips, Buford Boler, Randy Lee, Mike Duncan, Joel Noble and Glen Melancon.

Honorary pallbearers will be Landon Beasley, Kolton Shows, Caleb Boler, and Anthony Page.
