Mack Wesley
Tucker
November 21, 1934 – July 18, 2024
Mack Wesley Tucker died on July 18, 2024, at South Central Regional Medical Center following an automobile accident. He was born in Jones County, MS, on November 21, 1934.
He graduated from Myrick High School in 1955 and went on to serve in the United States Army for two years. On June 5, 1959, Mack married Ann Touchstone; during their 65-year marriage, the two established a thriving farm, a loving family, and a reputation for hard work, humility, kindness, and steadfast faith in God. Mack joined Tuckers Crossing Baptist Church in 1959, and he served there throughout his life as a deacon and on various committees. He was a favorite with children in the church, partly because his pockets were always filled with candy and gum.
Mack won the hearts of everyone he met, even the children and adults he encountered on mission trips to Romania with a team from his church. He had compassion for those who were struggling; the Tucker home was always open to guests, and over the years, that home provided security and love for those who needed it. As was his way, Mack quietly helped countless friends, neighbors, and strangers, without thought of recognition or reward.
Mack served his community as Beat 3 Constable for several terms, first in the 1960s and again in the early 2000s. His experience as a cattleman and poultry farmer qualified him to serve on the Board of Directors of the Jones County Farm Bureau. He was also a member of the Soil Conservation Committee, Jones County Cattlemen's Association, and Jones County Junior Livestock Association. Mack shared his love of farming with his daughters and grandsons, watching with pride as they participated in FFA and 4H.
Mack is preceded in death by his father, Luther Tucker, and his mother, K.C. Walters Tucker Pearson; his brother, Elmore Tucker; and his son-in-law, Art Turner. He is survived by his wife, Ann Touchstone Tucker; daughters Phyllis Wagnon (Bill) and Amy Blue (Michael); three grandsons, Thomas Wagnon (Noel), Mark Wagnon (Ashley), and Ford Turner (Allyson); three great-grandchildren, Tucker, Lainey Grace, and Ainsley Kate; nephew Douglas Cox (Clara); brother-in-law, Wayne Touchstone (Winky); sisters-in-law, Kay Touchstone Ireland and Gay Touchstone Morris; and children of the heart, Marshall, Karen, Mason, and Lena Kate Fitzgerald.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 12:00PM until 2:00PM at Tucker`s Crossing Baptist Church in 2054 Tucker`s Crossing Rd, Ellisville, MS. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 2:00PM at Tucker`s Crossing Baptist Church in Ellisville, MS. Burial will follow in Myrick Cemetery in Laurel, Mississippi. Bro. Wade Bush will officiate. Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 601-477-3797.
