Lona Marie Phillips Johnson, 53 of Laurel, MS passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at her residence in Laurel, MS. She was born Monday, June 1, 1970, in Laurel, Mississippi.

A private family graveside service will be held at Salem Heights Baptist Church cemetery.

Lona was a loving and caring person with a strong spirit. She had a unique charm about her. She was a giver and was always wanting to help others. Lona had a love for animals, flowers, and vegetables. She will be missed dearly by all who loved her, but we can now find comfort in knowing that she is with her mother and brother in a better place.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Brian Johnson; mother, Nancy Moss Jefcoat, and beloved brother, Russell Phillips.

Survivors include her father, Harlon Phillips (Joan) and a host of many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
