Lawrence Henry Gipson, affectionately known as 'Poppy' or 'Fats', passed away peacefully at his residence in Ovett, MS on November 1, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on October 28, 1943, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Lawrence was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Bowers Gipson, and his loving daughter, Lori Billiot, along with her husband Timothy. Lawrence was a cherished brother to Francis 'Frankie' Gipson and his wife Lisa; sister-in-law, Terri Bowers. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Blake McKay and his wife Olga, Chase Billiot, and step grandson Austin Billiot and his wife Anna, as well as his step great-grandchildren, Layla and Laura Billiot. Lawrence also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and numerous beloved friends, including special family Lori, Sonny, Dylan, and Reese.

He was preceded in death by his son, Lawrence 'Larry' Gipson, his parents, Edmond W. Gipson and Albertha Luscy Gipson, his brother Edmond J. Gipson and his wife Judy, his sister Mary 'Lou' Hanley, and his brother-in-law Ralph Bowers.

Lawrence will be remembered for his warm heart and the joy he brought to those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
