Obituary

Kenneth Amos Anderson, 78 of Ellisville, MS passed away after a long illness on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, MS. He was born Thursday, May 17, 1945, in Laurel, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023, from 9:30AM until 11:00AM at Ellisville Funeral Home in 1204 B Ave, Ellisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023, at 11:00 at Ellisville Funeral Home with burial to follow in Ellisville City Cemetery. Bro. Jimmy Hood officiated. Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 601-477-3797.

He was a member of West Ellisville Baptist Church. He attended Ellisville Grammar School, Ellisville High School and Jones Junior College. He was a talented musician who played many instruments and had a gospel blue grass band with his brother Robert Earl. They played music in churches all over South Mississippi as the Sonshine Boys with a few other members from time to time. He worked offshore for many years.

He loved his Lord, his family and his friends.

He was self-employed with his brother in an auto repair business and a member of the Local IBEW union.

Amos served his country with the 20th Special Forces Company B unit in Fort Bragg, NC in the United States Army and the Mississippi National Guard.

He loved the outdoors, was an avid gardener, and enjoyed hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Turner and Lena Bond Anderson; sisters, Peggy Vanderford (Bob) and Sara Lowery (Jet); brother-in-law, Robert Riggs.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Markley Anderson; son, Markley A Anderson (Jessica); daughter, Amanda A Williams (Terry Ray); grandchild, Tanner B Williams; brother, Robert "Moose" Anderson (Mary Margaret); sisters, Frances Berry (Wayne), Faye Riggs, Patti Jane Anderson (Wendel); A host of Nieces and Nephews.

Pallbearers will be Markley Anderson, Terry Ray Williams, Tanner Williams, and Billy Wayne Ellzey.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kelvin Knotts, Harvey Phillips, Cody Anderson, Caleb Miller, Phillip Kersh, and Chase Kersh.
