Katherine Taylor Ellzey, 32, of Seminary, MS, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. Born on January 23, 1993, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Katherine was a beloved member of her community and family.

Katherine had a beautiful soul; she was a light to all who knew her. She loved her children and her family like no other. Her friends and family members were innumerable and she would move mountains for them. She was rich in spirit and in love. The memory of her smile will continue to light the lives she touched Forever.

PSALMS 34:18 The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.

She is survived by her loving husband, Johnny Ellzey, Jr., her son Terrence Creed Johnston, daughter Anniston Kaylee Gerlach, and step-daughter Chrislyn Lawson. Katherine is also survived by her parents, Rodney and Dana Lee Johnston, her brother Jace Johnston, and sister Abby Dykes (Taler). Her grandfathers, Terence Lee and David Holifield, and grandmother Sandra Lee, along with her nephews Hendrixx Dykes and Swayze Dykes, nieces Adaleigh Dykes, Rhyan Dykes, and Magnolia Johnston, and father-in-law Johnny Ellzey, Sr., also mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Reba Holifield, and her mother-in-law, Suzanne Ellzey.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM at The Springs Church in Collins, Mississippi, officiated by Pastor Tony Clapp. Arrangements are being handled by Ellisville Funeral Home.
