Julia Watson Welborn, 90, of Laurel, MS, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at Archers Personal Care Home. She was born on September 29, 1936, in Laurel, Mississippi.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph M. Watson; parents, John A. and Vermell McGill; infant son, Grady Watson; second husband, Woodrow Wilson Welborn; brothers and sister, Samuel Coleman McGill, J. Hugh McGill, Devon “Buddy” McGill, Juanita Bailey and Sarah Johnson.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph M. Watson II, (Patricia and 2 grandchildren, Joseph M. Watson III (Jessie), Sarah Watson; great grandchildren, Joanna Leigh Watson, Rhett Joseph Watson; sister, Annelle McGill and her bonus family, son Larry Welborn (Janice) and Marianna Albritton (Allen); 4 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, November 9, 2026, at Fairview Missionary Baptist Church from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at same location. Burial will take place at the Fairview Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Joe Watson and Timmy Ewing will officiate. the services. Arrangements are under the care of Ellisville Funeral Home in Ellisville, MS.

Pallbearers will be Donnie McGill, Chris Sykes, JB Sykes, Tommy Ewing, Timmy Ewing and Scott Morris.
