Joyce Creel, 92, of Mathiston, MS, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at the Webster Longterm Care in Eupora, MS. Born on July 5, 1933, in De Kalb, Mississippi, Norma lived a life full of love and dedication to her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gwen Asford Creel, her parents, Johnson Rudolph Kynerd, Sr. and Melvira Lodoisha Chisolm Kynerd, and her siblings, Johnson Rudolph Kynerd, Jr., Thomas Calvin Kynerd, Ira Rupent Kynerd, Charles Oren Kynerd, Vernon Eric Kynerd, Mary Ella Shirley, Hazel Eloyse Shirley, Lodie Alaine Watkins. .

Norma is survived by her son, Jarold 'Jerry' Heasley and his wife Carrie, her grandchildren, Spencer Heasley and his wife Graziella, and Morgan B. Otahal and her husband Timothy. She was a proud great-grandmother to Liam Heasley, Colin Heasley, Carter Otahal, Logan Otahal, and Cecilia Otahal. Sister, Minie Elizabeth Goldman. She also leaves behind her sister-in-laws, Irma Jean Kynerd and Wilma Dawn Kynerd, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends who will cherish her memory.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 12:00PM until 2:00PM at Ellisville Funeral Home, located at 1204 B Ave, Ellisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will follow at 2:00PM at the same location, with Dr. Keith Thompson officiating. Norma will be laid to rest in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Laurel, Mississippi. Arrangements are under the care of Ellisville Funeral Home.
