Obituary

John Michael Wade, 59, born on December 16, 1965, in Laurel, MS, entered his eternal home on November 18, 2025, at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, MS, surrounded by family. He was the beloved son of Carrol and Sandra Wade.

Mike, as he was affectionately known, was preceded in death by his father, William "Carrol" Wade, paternal grandparents Mr. John Earl Wade, Mrs. Rovenia Hunnell, Mr. John Hunnell, and maternal grandparents Mr. Lavell Cockrell and Mrs. Audrey Cockrell.

He is survived by his mother, Sandra Cockrell Wade, brother, Richard "Ricky" Wade, son Michael Wade, and daughter, Tabitha Wade. He also leaves behind several beloved cousins and friends.

After his graduation from West Jones High School, Mike joined the US Navy where he proudly served for 11.5 years as a welder. After the Navy, he worked in Laurel until he became a truck driver for Werner, where he was able to travel the country with his son, Michael, for many years before he retired.

Mike was a skilled woodsman and enjoyed spending time in his wood shop building things for others. He also loved all things Alabama Crimson Tide and could often be seen sporting an Alabama shirt no matter where he was at. He would always give a hearty "Roll Tide" to any other Alabama fan who crossed his path.
