Obituary

John Jefferson (Jeff) Sullivan, 79, of Seminary, MS, passed away on September 5, 2025, at Forrest General Hospital. Born on August 7, 1946, in Laurel, MS. He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Patterson Sullivan, of 48 years, and son Adam Sullivan (Hannah Holsinger) of Washington D.C. He is also survived by his brother Terry Sullivan (Mary). He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Lee Sullivan and Bernice Louise (Jones) Sullivan, his brothers David and Jerry Sullivan, and his sister-in-law Elizabeth Sullivan.

Jeff attended Jones College and obtained a degree from the United Electronics Laboratory of Alabama School in Birmingham, AL. He retired from a career of 33 years with the Mississippi Power Company. Jeff was a devoted member of Lowery Creek Baptist Church in Seminary, MS. He spent much of his time devoted to supporting the church, community, and family members. He never said "no" and often overlooked his own needs to help others. Jeff was also a devoted caretaker to his wife.

Jeff loved playing golf and being outside, including working on his farm where he raised cattle. He also loved visiting with family and friends. Continuing the artistic streak in the family, he was an impeccable woodworker. He could fix, wire, and patch almost anything. He built a house where he and his wife lived for 25 years. Later in life, after a devastating fire destroyed the previous house, he built another. His brothers referred to him as "The Mayor of Rainey".
