John O Smith, 75 of Ellisville, MS passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at the Comfort Care Nursing Center in Laurel, MS. He was born Saturday, September 20, 1947 in Laurel, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Thursday October 13, 2022 beginning at 10:00 AM with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Ellisville Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery in Ellisville, Mississippi. Bro. Joe Watson will officiate.

Mr. Smith was a loving father and husband and he loved being outdoors. He loved being a papaw and he loved the Lord. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Roy and Myrtle Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Josie Smith; his sons, Johnny Smith (Ami), and Mark Smith (Sabrina); his daughters, Michelle Thomas (Allison) and Lisa Brewer (James); his sisters, Ruth Kelly (Norwood) and Dolliann Crawford; grandsons, Wesley Thomas (Tiffany), Colby Smith, Brody Smith (Brandi), Tyler Havard, T.J. Brewer (Gabby) and Jacob Brewer; granddaughters, Toni Busby (Matt), Jada Hinton (Kel), Katie Smith (Josh) and Ragen Smith; 16 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Thomas, Colby Smith, Brody Smith, Tyler Havard, T.J. Brewer, and Jacob Brewer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Vince Williams, Lance Williams, Mark Fayard, and Anthony Nix.
