John C. Jones, Jr, 86 of Laurel, MS passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023, at his residence in Laurel, MS. He was born Friday, November 20, 1936, in Palestine, Texas.

A Memorial service will be held on a later date. Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 601-477-3797.

He served in the United States Air Force as a Radar Specialist. John retired from Masonite after 26 years as a millwright.  He enjoyed watching and supporting his Ole Miss Rebels.  Paw Paw loved and enjoyed spending time with his family.  He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Gardner Jones; daughters, Karen Taylor, and Barbara Jaynean Jones; father, John C. Jones, Sr.; mother, Marie Clark Jones; sister, Betty Dyer.

Survivors include his son, John Jones (Janice); daughter, Amanda Smith; grandchildren, Glenn Wilson, Marcia Broome, Bo Wilson (Sandy), Jody Wilson (Shelley), Tommy Jones, Renea Jordan (David) and Ricky Joe Smith; sister, Lynn LeBoeuf; 12- great grandchildren and 4- great great grandchildren.  A special thanks to his caregiver, Angie Gandy who we consider family.
