Jimmy Rustin, 78, of Laurel, MS passed away Monday, April 15, 2024 at his residence. He was born Wednesday, April 25, 1945 in Laurel, Mississippi.

A Celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Florence Congregational Methodist Church in Heidelberg, Mississippi. Bro.  Jimmy Holder will officiate. Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 601-477-3797

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Ed Rustin; mother, Agnes Marie Oliver Rustin; and grandson, Cayton Allen Chandler.

Survivors include his wife, Sallie Phillips Rustin;  daughters, Yolanda Rustin (Kool Williams) and Rene` Powell (Alan);  step-son, Joseph McCollum (Jessica);  step-daughter, Kendra Dearman (Richie);  grandchildren, Jason Todd Chandler (Nancy), Ashton Brock (Rebecca), Zack Powell (Annette), Cade Locklear (Gina), Chad Locklear (Sophia), Dallas Flowers, Megan Dearman, Zach  Dearman, Logan  Dearman, Dani Mozingo (Robert), Hope Morgan (David); Jagger McCollum and Judd McCollum;  sisters, Nell Rustin and Lou Rustin (Ken);  great grandchildren, Bryan Chandler, Zackery Powell, Rhiannon Brock, Eli Mozingo, Elijah Dennis, Michael Morgan and Cooper Morgan as well as special friends, Jerry, Rose, Lane and Shelly.
