Jimmie J. Hollomon Mitchell died at Comfort Care-Assisted Living on Wednesday, March 11, 2020. She was born September 14, 1922, in Jones County, Mississippi. Her parents were Virgil and Bessie Powell Hollomon. She made Jones County her home for over 97 years. In the past ten years she was a resident at Comfort Care-Assisted Living in Laurel, MS.

Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her sons, Jerome (Charlotte) Mitchell of Ellisville, MS and Michael (Paula) Mitchell of Franklin, TN. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Kate M. Mitchell of Jakin, GA. She was predeceased by her husband, William Glenn Mitchell; son, Jerry Mitchell; parents Virgil and Bessie Hollomon; and her sister, Vernetta Parker.

She is survived by eight grandchildren: Chris (Emily) Mitchell of Blountstown, FL; Mellody M. (Scott) Pearce of Memphis, TN ; Mark (Connie) Mitchell of Bainbridge, GA; Scott (Kim) Mitchell of Donalsonville, GA; Todd (Robin) Mitchell of Enterprise, AL; Kathryn M. (Richard) Williams of Parker, TX; Lee (Terri) Mitchell of Ellisville; Bethany M. (David) Lambert of Franklin, TN. She also has thirteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be at Ellisville Funeral Home (1204 B Ave.; Ellisville, MS) on Saturday, March 14 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery (1743 Highway 29 North; Ellisville) at 2:30 p.m. Members of her family will conduct and participate in the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the church or charity of the donor's choice.
