Jessie "J.C." Charles Jones, 81, of Laurel, MS, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his family. Born on July 4, 1943, in Waynesboro, Mississippi, Jessie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

He was a member of Freedom Baptist Church. J.C. loved Jesus, his family, hunting and fishing in earlier days, Westerns and "George Jones".

He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Linda R. Tribble Jones of Laurel, MS, and his loving daughters, Teresa Jones, Tina Delk (Hogie), Kim Gatlin (Brian), and Jennifer Rowland. Jessie was a proud grandfather to Christian Parker (Kevin), Shelbi Quimby (Nathan), Kayla Purvis, Matthew Williams (Samantha), Courtney Shepherd (Kolby), Breanna Dean (Brett), Will Delk, Hunter Penney (Shannon), and Walter Rowland, and cherished his 21 great-grandchildren with one on the way. He is also survived by his brother, Billy Jones, and sister, Jean Kelly, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Jessie was preceded in death by his father, Laudie "Buddy" Jones, his mother, Liza Pearlie Martin Jones, his brother, Eugene Jones, his sisters, Bobbie Faye Douglas and Betty Maxcey, and his grandson, Dale Williams.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Freedom Baptist Church in Laurel, MS, followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Myrick Cemetery in Laurel, Mississippi. Bro. David Fedele will officiate the services, and Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jessie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
