Jerry Mitchell Upshaw, age 70, of Laurel, MS, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Born on December 14, 1955, in Jones County, MS, Jerry was a cherished member of the Eastview Baptist Church community. He found joy in fishing, hunting, and spending quality time with his beloved grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Dewey and Ollie Bell Butler Upshaw, his sister Sandra Nell Sargent, his brother George Gary Upshaw, and his long-time friend Jimmy Rustin and "Petey" his beloved dog.

Jerry is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Rosa Upshaw, and his loving family, including daughters Terri Lynn Strickland and Cari Cooper (Joshua), grandsons Charles Peak (Jamesiya) and Jerry Peak (Ahzaria), granddaughters Samantha Strickland (Stephen), Katelyn Bryant, and Lindsey Peak, and great-granddaughter Amelia Peak. He is also survived by his brother Wayne Upshaw, sisters Barbara Polson (Larry) and Jimmarie Flores, numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved Louie "Chucky".

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Ellisville Funeral Home, located at 1204 B Ave, Ellisville, Mississippi, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by funeral services at 3:00 PM at the same location. Burial will take place at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery in Rustin Community, with Bro. Thomas Montgomery officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Ellisville Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Charles Peak, Jerry Peak, Andy Skipper, Robert Polson, Mickey Upshaw, Todd Upshaw, Robert Polson and Eddie Polson.
