(Ret.) Gunnery Sergeant Jerry J Taylor, 73 of Laurel, MS passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023 at his residence in Laurel, MS. He was born Monday, September 9, 1949 in California. Graveside services will be held on Sunday April 2, 2023 at 2:00 pm in Ellisville City Cemetery in Ellisville, Mississippi. Thomas Mozingo will officiate the service.

He served 22 years in the United States Marines Corps and then drove over the road trucking until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Brandie and one brother.

Mr. Taylor is survived by wife of 50 years Bettie Taylor; son, Chris Taylor (Stacy); brothers, Wayne Taylor and Rodger Taylor; grandson, Donovan Williams; granddaughters, Cathrynn Abercrombie (Nolan)Samantha Williams and Caitlynn Williams (Jordan).
