Obituary

Jerry Lee Pool, 69, passed away Saturday May 20, 2023. He was born to Gerald and Mathalee Beech Pool on March 2, 1954. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Ellisville Funeral Home in 1204 Ave. B, Ellisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 11:00AM at Ellisville Funeral Home in Ellisville, Mississippi. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Ellisville, Mississippi.

Bro. Billy Wayne Patterson, Bro. Tony Pool will officiate. Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 601-477-3797.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Pool, one infant brother, David Anthony Pool, maternal grandparents, Walter and Bessie Beech, paternal grandparents, Kearney and Viola Pool, sister-in-law, Sandra Broadhead Pool, and the love of his life for 23 years Ann Blair.

He is survived by his mother, Mathalee Pool, two sons, Tony (Amanda) Pool of Ellisville MS, Jared (Trish) Pool of Petal MS. Grandchildren Casey (Michael) Parker, Cody (Hailey) Pool, Joseph (Shauna) Pool, and Owen Pool. Great Grandchildren Paisley Parker, Aulden Pool and Chloe McCardle. Brothers, Curtis Ray (Linda) Beech, Byron (Mary) Pool and Kenny Pool. Step Children Patricia Gleason, Dorothy Blair and Deven Andrews and a host of nieces and nephews and step grandchildren.

Jerry was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Ellisville MS and also attended Ovett United Methodist Church in Ovett MS where he served as the song director. He worked in the oilfield most of his life and farmed. He had a love for country music, especially Merle Haggard, and he enjoyed visiting with family and loved to sing old gospel songs. Everyone that met him loved him because of his kindness and gentleness.
