October 17, 1955 – January 15, 2025
Jerome Harless, 69, of Moselle, Mississippi, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Born on October 17, 1955, in Ellisville, Mississippi, Jerome was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Jerome was a dedicated member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Ellisville. He was actively involved in his community, serving on the Jones College Foundation Board and the Trustmark Bank Advisory Board. He was recognized as a Jones College Outstanding Alumni of the Year in 2022. He was the Owner and President of Flarestack, INC for many years. Jerome enjoyed spending time on the water, classic cars, and being Papa to his 6 grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Deborah Sumrall Harless; his son, Brian Harless and wife Jessica; his daughter, Amy Wooten and husband Nick; and his cherished grandchildren, Carmen, Kaitlyn, and Kyle Harless, and Tyler, Sydney, and Bryce Wooten. He is also survived by his sister, Silesa McBride and brother,
Johnny Harless and wife Margaret, and his; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lavon and Peggy James and a host of nieces and nephews.
Jerome was preceded in death by his parents, George H. Harless, Jr. and Jeanne Rainey Harless.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 9:30 AM until 12:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Ellisville, located at 302 E Holly St, Ellisville, MS. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 PM at the same location, with Bro. Greg Spencer and Bro. Robert Fennell officiating. Burial will take place at Ellisville City Cemetery in Ellisville, Mississippi. Arrangements are being handled by Ellisville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Wooten, Kyle Harless, Richard Harless, Matt Endom, Stephen Harless, and Bobby Harless.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Saundra Hamby, Melanie Gressett, and Tonya Nance for their excellent care and support.
In lieu of flowers, family asks donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) or Jones College Foundation at 900 South Court Street Ellisville, MS 39437.
