James Frederick Jones, 82, of Laurel, MS passed away Friday, April 22, 2022 at his residence in Laurel, MS. He was born November 22, 1939 in Hollandale, MS. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the Quality Inn, 1103 Sawmill Rd, Laurel, MS at 1:00 PM. Bro. Stan Nelson will officiate. A lunch will follow, (covered dish).

James was a dedicated Jehovah's Witness from his youth till his death. He was also a volunteer relief worker after Hurricane Katrina. James was loved and respected by all who had the privilege of knowing him, young and old alike.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Jones; mother, Ella Lorene Jones and 2 brothers, John Jones Jr. and W.T. Jones.

Survivors include his wife, Diana Jones; son, James Frederick Jones Jr. (Susan) and daughter, Elizabeth Lansdale (Jimmy); step-daughter, Tammie Overholt (Thomas); granddaughters, Brandy Moates (Shane) and Heather Jones of Clanton AL; three great-grandchildren, Jasmin, Jaclyn and Jacob Moates.
