A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date for James Dove "Jim" Broome Sr., 70, of Laurel, Mississippi, who passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at his residence.

Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Broome was born on Wednesday, April 7, 1948 in Laurel, Mississippi. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Broome retired after thirty-eight years of service as a buyer for Halliburton Oil Services.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Albert and Doris Dove Broome.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-two years, Linda Nell Devine Broome of Laurel; two sons, James Dove Broome Jr. (Vicky), and Jeffrey Douglas Broome, both of Laurel; one daughter, Stefanie Joan Broome of Laurel; two sisters, Dorothy L. Cooper of Conway, Arkansas and Rebecca E. Hinton of Laurel; four grandchildren, Preston Broome, Caitlynn Broome, Mason Broome, and Jeremy Broome; and two great-grandchildren, Rylan Broome and Maycee Broome.
