Obituary

James E. "Bo" Holifield, 78 of Laurel, MS passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at the Guardian Angels Home in Laurel, MS. He was born Tuesday, August 21, 1945, in Jones County, Mississippi.

Mr. Bo spent 21 years in the oil field.  After which, he came home to farm and cook corndogs. Beginning in 1964, he joined Mr. James Todd and together they were known throughout Jones County as the "Corndog Men".  Those that knew Mr. Bo best describe him as a loving family man who cared deeply for others.  Mr. Bo enjoyed camping with his family and friends.  He was always willing to provide for those in need and loved cooking for others.  Mr. Bo was a member of Journey Church.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 26,2024 at Journey Church located at 130 Northeast Drive in Laurel, Mississippi. Visitation will begin at 3:00pm with a service to follow at 4:00pm.   A private family burial will be held at a later date. Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 601-477-3797

Mr. Bo was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Long Hopkins; father, Loyce Holifield; brothers, Buddy Holifield and Butch Hopkins; sister, Betty Spencer.

Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Bonnie Norton Holifield of Laurel, MS; sons, Norton Holifield (Stacey) and Jordan Holifield; daughter, Trina Holifield; grandson, Hayden Myers; granddaughters, Hadley Holifield and Lacey Holifield.
