Jackie Carl Russell, 75, of Laurel, MS, went to his Heavenly home to be with Jesus on Monday, March 31, 2025, at the South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, MS. Born on Friday, February 24, 1950, in Stringer, Mississippi, Jackie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Jackie come up through the oil field and eventually owning his own business, Russell's Roustabout Inc. He had dedicated his life and business for his employees and had a business from 1981 to 2001 for 20 years. He taught both his sons everything to know in the oil field to support their family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Lynda Strickland Russell, and his sons, Reggie Russell (Lataya) and Jeremy Russell. Jackie was a proud grandfather to Adreana Russell, Levi Russell, Ryan Russell, Maddox Russell, and Allison Bates (Billy), and a cherished great-grandfather to Blakeleigh Bates and Taytum Bates. He is also survived by his brother, Roger Russell (Doris), and his sister, Linda Sue Clark (Danny).

Jackie was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Bobby Russell Sr., his mother, Geraldine Slaton Russell, and his brothers, Bobby Cecil Russell Jr. and Jerry Lynn Russell.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 2:00PM at Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery in Laurel, MS, with burial to follow at the same location. Arrangements are being handled by Ellisville Funeral Home. Pallbearers will include Levi Russell, Ryan Russell, Maddox Russell, and Billy Bates.
