Ira (Ann) Morgan Womack
Ann Womack departed her earthly home May 24,2024. Born May18, 1934 to parents Elizabeth and Taylor Morgan in Sunny South Alabama
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wesley Womack; and great grandchild, Ross Morgan Leatherwood, Siblings; Ed Morgan (Peggy), Essie McGilberry (Flave), and Terry Morgan (Geraldine).
Survivors include her sons; Timothy Leatherwood, Howard (Joy) Leatherwood; Grandchildren,Adam (Jessica)Leatherwood, April (Hugh) Harper, Brady Leatherwood, Great grandchildren Channing Joy Harper, Rhett Evan Leatherwood, Charlotte Ann Harper- her namesake.
Ann earned a license in cosmetology and then continued her education by earning a nursing license. She was an avid reader, an accomplished seamstress and quilter, a history buff, and an incredible cook. She was a devoted mother and left her beloved Alabama to move closer to her sons when they pursued their college degrees at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia. She later moved to New Orleans, and then to Laurel, Mississippi where she would live until her death. She was a lifelong Baptist and was a member of First Baptist Church in Myrick, Mississippi. Interment of her ashes will be in Memorial Gardens, Hot Springs, Arkansas at a later date.
