Scruggs
February 2, 1937 – February 25, 2023
Ida (Dempi) Scruggs of Ellisville, MS passed away February 25, 2023 at South Central Regional Medical Center with her family by her side to her heavenly home.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 1, 2023 beginning at 1:30 pm in the sanctuary of Sandhill Baptist Church with the Graveside service to follow at 2:30 pm in the church cemetery. Reverend Kevin Williamson will officiate the service.
Mrs. Scruggs was an active member of Sandhill Baptist Church as long as her Health allowed. She was retired from Jones County Junior College.
Mrs. Scruggs was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Scruggs; parents Jeff and Ella Yates; son Ronald Scruggs and a granddaughter; Stephanie Scruggs. Four brothers William, Lonnie, Freddie, and Terrell Yates and a sister Virgie Brewer.
Mrs. Scruggs is survived by her sons; David (Denine) Scruggs, Wayne Scruggs both of Ellisville and a daughter Sheila (Taylor) Sanford of Seminary. Brother Roy (Judy) Yates of Laurel, MS and sisters Elowise Williams, Paulette (Toxie) Crosby both of Ellisville. Nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Justin Scruggs, Waylon Scruggs, Taylor Sanford, Billy Welch, Chris Breazeale and Michael Yates. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters.
The family would like to thank the staff of Jones County Rest Home for the love and compassion care of their Mother during her time there.
Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
