Helen Jean Flynt, 88, of Ellisville, MS, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. Born on July 20, 1937, in Jones County, Mississippi, Helen lived a life full of love and dedication to her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Ramsey Flynt, her daughter Cindy Flynt, her father Demp Pierce, her mother Helen Young Pierce, and her brothers Jimmy Pierce and Billy Ray Pierce.
Helen is survived by her sons, Edward Flynt and his wife Belinda, and Scott Flynt and his wife Sandi, all residing in Ellisville, MS. She leaves behind a legacy through her grandchildren: Austin Flynt and his wife Katherine, Ryan Flynt, Danyelle Walters and Jake Wade, Leland Rogers and his wife Jessica, Natalie Flynt Herndon and her husband Darrin, Kaylie Flynt Buckley and her husband Jameson, Adam Beesley and his wife Morgan, and Miranda Gurley and her husband Chris. Her great-grandchildren, Mia Walters, Jaxon Wade, Mason Craven and his wife Krissie, River Spurlin, Scottlyn Buckley, Dawson Herndon, and Savvy Buckley, along with her great-great-grandchild Duke Craven, sister, Mary Frances Couch and a host of nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM at Ellisville Funeral Home, located at 1204 B Ave, Ellisville, Mississippi. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 AM at Indian Springs Cemetery in Laurel, MS, with burial at Indian Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Mark Anderson and Rev. David McGowin will officiate the services.
Pallbearers will include Jerald Mixon, Leland Rogers, Jameson Buckley, Darrin Herndon, Austin Flynt, and Jake Wade, with honorary pallbearers Buck Sanderson and Charles Mixon.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers who provided loving care for Helen in her home, as well as the medical staff at the Forrest General Cancer Center and Hospice Care.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society https://bloodcancerunited.org/ or donors choice.
