Harl D. Mack Hicks, 86, of Laurel, MS, passed away Sunday March 31, 2019 at his residence. He was born Wednesday, May 18, 1932 in Uriah, AL.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the Ellisville Funeral Home in Ellisville, MS with funeral services to follow at 1:00 PM in the chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens of Laurel. Bro. David Williams and Bro. Derek Gobert will officiate. Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (601) 477-3797
Mack was a carpenter by trade and particularly enjoyed finish carpentry. He had an eye for detail and his work was always precise. He enjoyed the outdoors, particularly fishing. He also enjoyed dancing. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Hicks and Maggie Colbert Hicks; brothers, Walter B. Hicks, Hollis J. Hicks, Fred Hicks, Houston Hicks and Sammie Hicks and his son, Jeff Hicks.
Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Hicks, brother, Johnny Hicks (Elaine); sisters, Mazie Burkett (Gene), Irene Bryant and Mary Ridgway and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members.
Pallbearers will be Tate Hicks, Mitch Parker, Stan Ridgway, Vince Spradley, Matthew Jordan and Cole Sullivan.
