Gloria “Janie” Wade, 78, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13, 2026, in the loving home of her son, Corey Jeffers.
Though born and raised in Vicksburg, Janie found some of life’s greatest joys and created many of her most treasured memories in Laurel, Mississippi. It was there that her faith flourished, and her loving, selfless spirit touched the lives of everyone she encountered.
Janie’s greatest joy was her relationship with the Lord. A devoted member of Centerville Baptist Church, she faithfully served in the church choir and cherished the fellowship of her church family. Her faith was evident not only in the songs she sang but also in the kindness, grace, and generosity she extended to everyone she met. She lived a life of quiet service, unwavering love, and steadfast faith, leaving a legacy that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray T. Wade; her sister, Peggy Mosley; and her great-granddaughter, Madilyn Jeffers.
She is survived by her children, Joe Jeffers (Dulce) and Corey Jeffers (Jessica); her grandchildren, Dillon Jeffers (Layci), Tanner Jeffers, Shelby Jeffers, Camille Jeffers, Sullivan Jeffers, Robert Jeffers, Marleigh Jeffers, Addi Jeffers, and Aiden Jeffers; and her great-grandchildren, Rhys Reed and Grayson Jeffers.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Centerville Baptist Church Cemetery.
Janie will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her compassionate heart, and the unconditional love she gave to her family and friends. Her life was a beautiful testament to God’s love, and while she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is at peace in the presence of her Savior.
