George Ray Green, 90, of Laurel, MS, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at his residence. Born on March 7, 1935, in Wink, Texas, George lived a full and cherished life.

George was a pitcher for the Dodgers Farm System. He was an avid sportsman. He ran a successful machine shop business, Green Machine and Tool for many years in South Houston Texas. He is cherished and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Peggy Wright Green, and his son, George B. Green; daughter, Tracy Purvis. He was a proud grandfather to Stacie Boyens, Mary Martinez (Fernando), and Steven Perrett (Jacque), Cody McDonald (LeeAnne), Randy McDonald (Kayla), Clayton Purvis (Brittany), Daylee Stanley and a great-grandfather to 12 great-grandchildren.

George was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Gwendolyn Green, and his parents, James A. Green and Dovie Thedford Green; daughter, Sharon McDonald (Bryant).

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Ellisville Funeral Home, located at 1204 B Ave, Ellisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM at the same location, with Bro. Steve Kelly officiating. Burial will take place at Tucker Cemetery in Ellisville, MS.
