Mrs. Geneva J. Herring passed from this life on Monday, August 12, 2019. She is the daughter of George Ulmer Jones and Rosa Lee Hathorn. She was born November 5, 1931 in Smith County, Mississippi. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Ellisville, Mississippi.
She married Daniel A. Herring, Jr. at Laurel, Mississippi on December 9, 1950. She has been predeceased by her parents, brothers Randall Jones and Willard Jones, and sisters Jeanette Smith and Catherine Holloway.
She leaves in this life her husband, sons Stephen Alan Herring and Gary Lee Herring, daughter-in-law Catherine Herring, granddaughter Elizabeth Enochs Herring, sister Bobbie Jones, and other kindred and friends.
A grave side service and internment will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Laurel at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 15, 2019. Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Minister Shannon Slover will lead the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army in Laurel, Mississippi.
