Gene Farel Stringer, 77, of Laurel, MS, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 23,2026, at Comfort Care Nursing Home, Born on July 11, 1948, in Bay Springs, MS.

Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Francis Stringer; parents, Leroy and Louise Stringer; brothers, Therman Stringer, Roy Stringer and Gerald Stringer.

Gene is survived by his loving family, including sons, Mitchell Stringer (Michael), Matthew Stringer, Scott Edmonson, Kevin Edmonson, granddaughter, Chy Weems.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Ellisville Funeral Home, located at 1204 B Ave, Ellisville, Mississippi, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Grace Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Eddie Brady will officiate the service. Arrangements are under the care of Ellisville Funeral Home.
