Eleanor Harvey Beech Hill

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Eleanor Harvey Beech Hill, affectionately known to her family as "Mimi," on July 18,2026, at the Cypress Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bossier City, LA.

Eleanor was born April 24, 1934, to Hulon and Mary Windham Harvey in Covington County, Mississippi. She was welcomed into her family by her older, and very beloved sister, Bonnie Harvey Odom (Seaborn), and was preceded in death by an infant brother, William "Willie" Thomas Harvey.

Eleanor grew up and was educated in Jones County, Mississippi, where she met and married her first love, Cleston Olen Beech. They made their home in Ellisville, Mississippi, raised their children, and were both employed by Ellisville State School. Eleanor enjoyed her many years working in the beauty shop, where she was known for her dedication, care, and pride in her work. She even returned to school to receive her Vocational Certificate from the Cosmetology Program at Jones County Jr. College. She retired after 30+ years of service.

During this time, she was widowed after 29 years of marriage to Cleston, who passed away in October 1982, and she embraced her cherished role as "Mimi" to her five grandchildren: Jessica St. Romain (Bailey) of Richmond, Virginia; Matthew DiGrazia (Niema) of Shreveport, Louisiana; Michael DiGrazia (Jessica) of Spearfish, South Dakota; Connor Beech (Laura) of Ruston, Louisiana; and Silas Beech of Shreveport, Louisiana.

In time, she was also blessed with five great-grandchildren: Eli, Lilly, and Bryleigh Beech, Quinn St. Romain, and Olen DiGrazia.

When both of her children, Jean DiGrazia (Chris) and Greg Beech (Sam), settled in Shreveport, Louisiana, she chose to move there to be closer to her family. She quickly became the matriarch, and nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her grandchildren. Most of her days were spent with her youngest and very special grandson, Silas Beech. Eleanor was Silas' best friend, confidant, advocate, and faithful chauffeur to his therapies and school activities. She had a gift for drawing him out, listening to his stories, and understanding his thoughts. She knew him better than anyone, and the two shared a special bond.

In time, Eleanor reconnected with a second love, Dennis Hill, of Laurel, Mississippi. She returned to Mississippi and married Dennis, gaining three sons and daughters-in-law whom she dearly loved: Kenneth Hill (Ellen) of Illinois;

Randy Hill (Cindy) of Ellisville, MS; and Bobby Hill (Charlene) of Laurel, MS. She was warmly welcomed into the Hill family and embraced the many additional grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she lovingly considered her own. Her circle of family and love only grew larger, and she treasured every one of them. Dennis passed away in May 2008 after 10 very happy years of marriage. Eleanor moved back to Shreveport, Louisiana, to live out the remainder of her years.

Eleanor loved the Lord and read her new large-print Bible every day. She loved to talk about her Savior, Jesus Christ, and prayed for her family, friends and the staff of Cypress Point. Eleanor made friends wherever she lived. She was known for her giving spirit, for listening to everyone's stories, and for considering everyone as family. She loved to wear bright clothes and beautiful jewelry, and her hair and makeup were always perfect. Pink was her favorite color.

Visitation will be held on Saturday August 1, 2026, at Ellisville Funeral Home, located at 1204 B Ave, Ellisville, Mississippi, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at the same location, with burial at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Ellisville Funeral Home.
