Edwin Allen Mooney (Ed), age 79, of Seminary, MS lost his battle to cancer on March 3, 2023, at 7 pm.  He died in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family.  He was born February 8, 1944, in Frisco City, Alabama.

Ed was married to his beloved wife Wanda Mooney for 53 years and has been waiting 2 years to be reunited with her.  Ed retired from Kinder Morgan.  He was very active at Ellisville First Assembly of God where he served as a deacon for over 40 years.  He also served as Sunday School Superintendent and choir director.  He loved life and was always playing pranks and trying to make people laugh.  He enjoyed collecting antiques and classic automobiles, hunting bargains, and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents Rev. Raymond Mooney and Lillie Mae Mooney, and his wife Wanda Gillis Mooney.  Ed is survived by his two daughters Angela (Kevin) Hunnell, Amy (Jeffrey) Hathorn; four grandchildren Jeremy (Deanna) Hunnell, Cody (Marlee) Hunnell, Hope Hathorn, and Jay (Karlin) Hathorn; 3 great-grandchildren Brody Hunnell, Madison Hunnell and Bentlee Hunnell.

Pallbearers will be Jason Morris, Joey McRee, Lance Taylor, Lance McGee, Gerry Tucker, and Paul Graham.  Honorary pallbearer will be Leon Henderson.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2023, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Ellisville First Assembly of God in Ellisville, MS.  Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 6, 2023, at 10:00 am at Ellisville First Assembly of God and burial will follow at Lighthouse Cemetery.  Bro. Kenny Morris, Bro. Andy Stringfellow and Bro. Scott Morris will officiate.  Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  (601) 477-3797.
