E. C. Roney, aged 95, of Ellisville, Mississippi, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at his residence. He was a cherished member of the Ellisville First Assembly of God church family.
E.C. was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Alice Roney, parents, E.C. and Carrie Tisdale Roney, his grandson, Jeff Mills; and great-great grandsons, the Walters’ twins.
He is survived by his three daughters: Joan (Kenny) Morris, Debbie (David) Mills, and Angie (Mickey) Havard. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Scott (Kim) Morris, Jason (Mandi) Morris, Tim Morris, Jabe (Anna) Mills, Sarah (Jonathan) Ervin, and Ben Havard, as well as nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and many other family members and friends.
E.C. Roney married Alice, the love of his life, on December 18, 1949. Together, they raised a beautiful family and shared a life filled with love and joy. Gardening and family meals were central to their family life. He was a master carpenter.
For 48 years, E.C. and Alice Roney pastored churches in Mississippi and Alabama.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at First Assembly of God in Ellisville, MS. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 2:00PM at the same location, with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Ellisville, MS.
Bro. Jabe Mills, Bro. Scott Morris, Bro. David Mills, and Bro. Kenny Morris will officiate the services, with arrangements handled by Ellisville Funeral Home. Graveside by Bro. Mickey Havard.
E.C.’s life was a testament to his faith, love, and dedication to his family and community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will be cherished forever.
