Dean Johnson, aged 87, of Laurel, MS, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at the South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, MS. Born on September 27, 1938, in Ellisville, Mississippi, Dorothy lived a life full of love and family.

She was a member of Ellisville First Assembly of God. She had a great love for animals. Dean had a special calling for taking care of the elderly.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Bro Bill Hyatt and Tex Johnson, her son, John Calvin Hyatt, her parents, Elisha Wilson Eddy and Gladys Higgins Eddy, her brothers, Gurtis Eddy, Curtis Eddy, Edward Eddy, and Cordis Eddy, and her sisters, Coralea Tisdale and Belle Nevals.

She is survived by her sons, Willie Wade Hyatt and his wife Monica, and Christopher Eugene Hyatt. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Jennifer Spivery and her husband R. J., Chase Hyatt, John Hyatt, Kyla Hyatt, Alexis Hyatt, and Aleiya Hyatt, as well as her great-grandchildren, Bently Jones, Anna Hyatt, Gracelynn Hyatt, Kylan Dumas, Saint Dumas, and Jentri Spivery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM at Ellisville Funeral Home, located at 1204 B Ave, Ellisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at the same location, with Bro. Kenny Morris and Bro Trent Williamson officiating. Dorothy will be laid to rest at Sandhill Baptist Church Cemetery in Ellisville, Mississippi. Pallbearers will be John Hyatt, Darrell Tisdale, Lamar Mosley, Glenn Tisdale, Charlie Eddy and Chad Tisdale.
