Darlene J. Gunter, of Ellisville, MS, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones Saturday, October 24, 2026, at her residence in Laurel, MS. She was born on August 25, 1944, in Brandon, Mississippi.

She was preceded in death by her, husband, Al Gaitanis, parents, James F. and Bobbie Mary Walters, brother, Derryle H. “Chuck” Walters, husband, Billy Gunter.

She is survived by her sons, Andrew Gaitanis (Danielle), James “Jimmy” Gaitanis, grandchildren, Skarla Gaitanis, Cheyenne Gaitanis, nieces, Stephanie Mary Murphy (Ricky), Alise Nix (Michael), Brittany Walters, and a host of great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Amdrew Gaitanis, Michael Nix, John Michael Nix, Richard Baldwin, Mike Gonzles, and Jeremy Font.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 30, 2026, from 9:30AM to 10:30AM at Ellisville Funeral Home with Graveside Services to follow at 11:00AM at Calhoun Cemetery in Laurel, Mississippi, with burial to Follow at Calhoun Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the care of Ellisville Funeral Home of Ellisville, MS.
